I love to travel, and I’m always looking for a way to spend less and travel more. After searching around online, I found the British Airways Visa Signature card and was amazed by its perks and benefits.
The British Airways Visa Signature credit card issued by Chase Bank is perfect for people who want to earn and redeem Avios for British Airways flights.
The major perk of the card is the 100,000 Bonus Avios that you can earn if you spend $5,000 in total purchases within the first three months of opening an account.
Using this credit card will also allow you to earn 5 Avios for every $1 of spending on British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Iberia flight purchases within the first year of account opening and then 3 Avios after that.
Flight Discounts and Companion Tickets
Aside from flight purchases, you can also earn 3 Avios on every $1 spent on hotel accommodations in the first 12 months and 2 Avios after that. For all other purchases, you will earn 1 Avios for every $1 spent.
When booking through the designated website provided in the welcome materials, you will receive 10% off all British Airways flights from the U.S. If you achieve $30,000 spending every year, you will get a Travel Together ticket valid for 2 years.

I learned of even more benefits to enjoy beyond earning Avios, discounted flights, and statement credits when using the British Airways Visa Signature credit card.
As a frequent overseas traveler, one of the things that I always try to avoid is foreign transaction fees when using my credit card. Thankfully, this card imposes zero foreign transaction fees for any purchases outside the country.

Feel Secure with Travel and Purchase Coverage
Other than perks and rewards, the British Airways Visa Signature card also offers insurance protection that will protect you and your purchases. It grants baggage delay insurance of up to $100 a day for 3 days.
Worse than delayed baggage is lost luggage, but you don’t have to worry. The British Airways credit card with Chase covers up to $3,000 per passenger if your luggage, or that of an immediate family member, is damaged or lost by the carrier.
For purchases, the card provides coverage of up to $500 per claim and $50,000 per account for 120 days against theft or damage. It even extends the warranty period of U.S. manufacturers by one more year.
Rates and Charges Associated with the British Airways Visa Signature Card
While knowing the benefits offered by a credit card is important, I also believe that understanding the interest rates and charges imposed by the British Airways Visa Signature card is equally important.
The card has a purchase annual percentage rate (APR) of between 15.99% to 22.99%, depending on the user’s creditworthiness. A similar rate range is applied for balance transfer APR and My Chase Loan APR.
If you sometimes make cash advances on your credit card, note that the cash advance APR for this card is 24.99% and may vary with the market depending on the prime rate.
About Other Charges
The British Airways Visa Signature card also imposes a penalty APR of up to 24.99% if you fail to make the minimum payment by the due date and time or if you make a payment that is returned unpaid.
The penalty APR may be applied indefinitely for either of the two specified reasons above.
There is no minimum interest charge. To avoid paying interest on purchases, make sure that you pay the entire balance or Interest Saving Balance by the monthly due date.
Other Fees to Consider Before Applying
Unlike other credit cards, which offer zero annual fees, the British Airways Visa Signature card has an annual fee of $95. However, it has no penalty fee for return checks.
A monthly fee equivalent to 1.72% of the amount of each eligible purchase transaction, or amount selected to create a My Chase Plan, is imposed and will not change until the My Chase Plan is settled fully.
The transaction fee for balance transfers is $5 or 5% of the amount, whichever is higher. Cash advances have a fee of $10 or 10%.
There is no late payment nor return payment penalties imposed.

If your Avios is insufficient to pay for an award flight, there is a points and cash option.
